Background
Orphaned at a young age, Leeda Lamara grew up as a street urchin. She soon discovered her hypnotic powers and survived by using her newfound abilities to trick others out of their belongings.
One day, she was found by Cosmo, the Ringleader of the Terrahuman Circus. Saddened to see her take advantage of others just to survive, Cosmo took Leeda into his family and raised her as his own daughter. As Leeda grew up, she created her own carnival act: Taking on the name "Mesmer", she utilized her hypnotic powers to strengthen the bodies and spirits in those around her, instead of relying on manipulation.

Personality
Mesmer is friendly, fun-loving, and deeply passionate about her morals and beliefs. Though she appears innocent enough, her early life on the streets has groomed her to be particularly clever, and at times she can even be something of a trickster. Despite this, she can still be naïve at times, her friendly personality makes her a little to quick to trust others, and her passionate heart can cause her to get into situations a little over her head.
Mesmer is a fantastic supporter, and loves to lift people's spirits. There is nothing that makes her more angry than people who use their gifts to oppress and demoralize others, and there is nothing that makes her more sad than those who see their powers as a curse. She is very accepting of others regardless of their physical appearances or whatever abilities they possess.
She deeply loves her family and home and is willing to go through great ordeals for their sake, but her endearment can come back to bite her if the interests and well being of her family conflict with her other friends or loyalties. Her joking disposition can make it difficult for her to take things seriously at first, but when pushed to the edge she can be a challenging, sometimes even brutal force to go up against.


Abilities
By far, one of Mesmer's most notable abilities are her powerful hypnotic suggestions. By using bells as a catalyst, she can implant ideas into the minds of others, and even herself, actually fooling the brain into altering behavior or physical functions. These alterations are triggered by verbal cues, such as "gain strength" or "slow down". This has a number of utilities that can help or harm others, including enhancing and impairing strength and speed, suppressing or amplifying pain, and inducing feelings of courage or fear.


Strengths
- Charismatic, kind, generally very easy to get along with
- Naturally athletic and agile, even without enhancements (though still a way away from being superhuman)
- Circus life has equipped her with many misc. skills and talents
- Highly clever
- Hypnosis is especially effective on simple-minded people
- Adept at close combat


Weaknesses
- Has high morals, will not resort to weakening or manipulating an enemy unless she feels it is necessary. Using her powers this way weighs heavily on her conscience
- If the target can not hear or understand her, hypnosis is ineffective
- If the target is aware of being hypnotized, they may be able to resist, especially if their personalities are very calm and well-collected
- Other people with psychic powers have resistance to hypnosis
- Robots, golems, elementals, and all other forms of inorganic life are immune to hypnosis
- Hypnosis puts a large strain on both Mesmer's mind and body if overused. Rather than buff herself out the yin-yang, she uses enhancements as they are needed.
- Hypnotism are essentially powerful suggestions implanted directly into the brain. Mesmer cannot hypnotize others into doing what they would outright refuse to do (such as surrendering a match) or what they are physically incapable of doing (such as sprouting wings and flying away)
- Being covered in bells makes stealth difficult
- Not very antagonistic, and unlikely to make the first move against an opponent
